Better way than STS Turbo kit oil return?

I have no idea if this would work, but could you use a sandwich adapter like the ones for oil coolers....get the oil from it, and return the oil to it. You'd have to make sure the thermostat was out of it so it ran oil through the lines all the time. The last time I used one was on my blazer and it had a ball bearing in there or something...I don't really remember. Would that work???
