Default best sounding muffler for 5.3's

I want something thats very aggressive.. almost wanna go straight pipes cause every truck ive owned has had straight pipes just about. Thus, i want something loud, but without all that rasp

if you like flowmaster sound, they have an american thunder muscle truck system. It's side exit, dual out. they seem to have engineered a special muffler for this application, it's a 2 chamber super 40, but it's about half the size of a normal muffler. it's pretty damn loud, with my high flow cats, and it sounds god damn excellent. I reccoment to everyeone. a lot of the guy shere on this web site say flowmaster sucks up power, but i saw dyno numbers....... you may lose 2 hp, over a straight through type muffler..... in my opinion, it was well worth it.

i have the magnaflow on my TA and that sounds pretty good at WOT, but its tame at idle

keep the info coming.. im just leaning towards mufflers, then getting a friend to weld up the pipe from the muffler out the rear of the truck hisself.

Had a Magnaflow on mine. Took it off, it was waaay to quiet for me. Switched over to a Dynomax Bullet. Sounds awesome at WOT and sitting at idle. Very loud with a deep rumble.

That's with gutted cats and true duals. I like them a lot. They are really tame at idle and low rpm, but very aggressive sounding when you really get into it.

I'm running a 3" stainless Borla, Love the sound, tame at idle, gets loud at wot. A lot of guys are running the Borla XR1's. That's the way to go if you want loud.
