Default Best intake for '99 tahoe....plus a couple of Q's...

Just got a '99 2-door tahoe. Looking to get an intake for it. Looking for best power/gas miliage for $$.

Also wondering about electric fans. What is the best setup, what size I need, CFM, etc.

Thanks in advance!

i think everyone says they got more power with the upd intake. i think it runs in the 200 dollar range. uses a drop in type filter. Not sure of their website. On the fans, just get some out of a ls1 camaro or t/a. junk yard, ebay, etc. you'll need the wires that come with the fans and have a little trimming to do. but they fit right in there.

They made a 99 2dr Tahoe?

I have a 99 99 4dr Tahoe.

I have one of the first UPD intakes for the older 5.7/L31 motor.

I like it, it was a lot cheaper than the KN FIPK.

It was straightforward to install and my midrange and topend is better. Also my gas mileage is better.

When I still had 3.08 gears I was doing 520 miles/tank highway.

Yep, I have the last year of the 2door tahoes.

Where do you buy the UPD intake? What does UPD stand for? So what you guys are saying is the UPD flows better than the K&N? I want the most bang for my buck.

There is a banner link at the very top of this forum.

www.ultimatepd.com

I would only get an airbox that is sealed like stock.

KIPK is like $380 or something like that. My upd was like $200 or less I can't remember.
