Mobil 1 or K&N Filters along with Mobil 1 Synthetic every 5000 miles.

I've personally seen a Fram cut open and will never buy based upon what I saw starting with cardboard end caps.

I'm in Birmingham. I want to build on my truck but don't know where to start. Do you know of any good machine shops up there?

I use K&N Filters HP2006. It isn't the one suggested for the engine however this filter has more filtering eliment in it. I think the suggested number is HP 1007. 03 Silverado SS - 6.0L LQ9,

Fram's are junk unless you get the really expensive one and then its about like your average filter.
I like WIX or napa gold(napa gold is a WIX)

I asked this same question a couple weeks ago. Several people said either the AC Delco PF59 or Wix is the best.
