Trick is a sponsor, there's a banner over on the right.
I got mine put in this weekend its a great looking set. Hardest part of the install was finding a strap wrench long enough to get the clutch fan off with.

I have the flexalite kit on my 2000 RCSB. They're kinda pricey though.

If your cooling system is in good shape I think you'll find that you won't need the fans much. They'll get lots of use when the A/C is on though. Other than that they won't come on much.

The LS1 F-body fans are probably the best choice for the price IMO.

I wouldnt mess with it unless you're doing a lot of modding. Doubt you'll notice a difference if youre stock

I did it hoping it might help gas mileage a little. But after the e-fans were on it opened up things in front of the motor so much I would have done it for that reason alone. It would be easy to change a belt on the road now.

I'd be sure to get e-fans with big fans and a big plastic shroud. The big fans will still let a lot of air flow through the radiator when they aren't running. Smallish fans with a flat aluminum shroud might not let enough air flow when they aren't running causing the fans to come on a lot.

so is there something that tells the fans when to come on. im guessing it will take the place of the clutch. im guessin it comes in the trick kit but would it come with ls1 fans?

ah ok i looked it up. the flexalites come with a thermostat relay, and harness, and speed control 60-100%. trick didnt say what was all in the kit. also, tricks ad said it was for a nbs chevy

You can have the ECM control the fans. But after wiring the fans up you'd have to take the truck in to have that function turned on in the ECM.

Yes a BB or Wheatley tune can fix the issue, but you have to tell them you want the e-fans turned on. Some of them have a special low price if all you want is the fans turned on. Or you can take it to a Chevy dealer to get the fans turned on.

Chances are you can get by just fine without the fans working this time of the year as long as you don't spend a lot of time in stop and go traffic.

What fans would I use? I have the Flexalite kit on mine, but they aren't cheap. The factory truck fans would work good as long as you get the proper size for your radiator. The later trucks got bigger radiators and those fans would be too big. The factory LS1 F-body fans are a popular set for our trucks and they can usually be found for a reasonable price on E-bay.

If price isn't an issue, I like the Flexalite set. They have a nice shroud with big fans and a soft rubber seal that goes against the radiator. Although I've heard storys about the Flexalite controllers burning out, mine is still working fine. And with the controller you don't have to pay to get the ECM done.
