#1
Hi all, from the UK and looking to change the cam in my 2007 escalade 6.2 now I don't want some thing sounding like stock don't mind having the change valve springs if a must, all ready have cold air intake, Gibson shorty headers, 3'' straight through exhaust from cats. Would be greatful for any help to point me in the right direction as being from UK I'll have to import every thing.

Here is my 6.2 swapped Avalanche with a Cam Motion 6.2 Stage 1 'High Lift' Truck cam....works well with the stock converter, no loss of low end torque and pulls great, only requires the cheap LS3 Valve Springs
6.2 Stage 1 LS Truck Camshaft (206/216-117+4) - Cam Motion

Thanks for the reply, I take it this is not a vvt cam? As I don't want to be removing the vvt problem I've had with alot of company's I've contacted either want me to do the converter or the AFM lifters two jobs I don't really want to be doing, just want biggest cam stock can handle with the change of springs and and other bolt on head parts without removal of heads lol

If you want to do a decent size cam you will want to do the converter. You can do the cam without doing the converter but you will hate it. It will be slower than stock up to about 4k RPM.
If you stay on the smaller side of cams you can keep the stock converter. If a cam manufacturer says you need a stall then either do the stall or pick a smaller cam.
You shouldn't have AFM/DOD but if you do you have to change the lifters. If you don't you can keep your lifters.
It's best to keep the VVT, so don't delete the VVT unless you have to.
