I understand perfectly about the sound. I grew up in a town where we ran open headers a few times a year with the cops approval.

I see what you are saying about the big cubes, I will be real interested to see your dyno. Are you going to do pulls open and closed?

Yes it can thats what I orginally was going to do but decided I wanted even more flow for future plans. Honestly all you will really gain by putting it after the y is sound unless you ahve a really restrictive muffler. Since you ahve a chambered muffler you will see some gain if it was me I would put two right after the cats to really get it to flow well since Im sure you want to keep the cats if not cut the cats off and you will notice a big diff in power. Jim you really need to get rid of those shorties and throw you a pacesetter setup on there and not worry about the cutouts, money better spent IMO.

Yeah when I get it on the dyno Ill do open and closed. Just bear in mind with the setup I have I can benefit greatly from cutouts whereas a different setup will not see as good of a gain. A true dual no cat with straight through mufflers will not see hardly any gain just alot of sound. A y-pipe setup with cats with the cutouts before the cats will net a pretty good gain IMO.

Hey Cody,

Pacesetters were shipped and will be here next week. That's why I'm looking at the cutouts now. I'm figuring I'll do the headers/cutouts before I do the larger project of heads/cam/meth kit/throttle body/34" radiator/HP Tuner.

I suppose I ought to bite the bullet and just do two cutout's and stop trying to cut corners. I don't know if I can find anyone to get rid of the cats for me but I'm going to try.

Did you order the offroad y with teh headers? I would wait and do the pacesetters when you do the head swap it would be extrmely easy to slip them in there without the heads on. Do two cutouts on there might as well but be forwarned it is loud when you open up
