I think .18 is not good for 91$ i think for christmas and new years i am gettin a new front bumper, someone frent ended me at work with a trailer hitch oh well but ill put the open cone just for fun and sound. Have you seen trucks he dynoed a f150 with a programer and got 10tq and 15hp not bad but heh not worth it i think. I think for now i am sticking with open element in front of the tb and a new front bumper.

well if you want more power you gonna have to spend money. Plain and simple, its not cheap buy any means. If you wanted cheap raw power you shouldve bougt a fbody.

Oh and a handheld will give you about .2-.3 for 400.00. Do the math.

I won't say any names, but I once tuned over a 'budget tuner' and was amazed at the knock, audible knock at that, the truck was getting. Besides that, it was running pretty lean. This was on an almost stock 02 z71 after several retunes. The retunes were to fix the problems he was still having.

Don't waste your time on shorties. They suck for gains. Handhelds aren't much better.

I'm sure I'm not gonna be the last to recommend the custom tune, but I have to anyway, definitely the way to go. I do understand though that you probably want to have the handheld as a starting point and to be able to make your own adjustments without having to get involved with tuning software that takes alot of time and patience...big learning curve. That being said, my personal experience is with the Crane/VHP tuner, and I must say it was very impressive for a handheld. It allows for all of the usual adjustments (tire/gear changes, speed limiter, shift firmness and speed, etc.), but also allows fuel enrichment, idle speed adjustment, minor spark timing adjustment, and has 4 preset cam profile tunes for Crane/Vinci cams. I used it with my mild Comp Cam (before my PCMforLess tune), and it ran pretty decent. But, as I mentioned before, the PCMforLess custom tune kicks butt hands down.

I also noticed that 99silver5.3 just started a thread in the tuning section about a new Diablo Fuego handheld that has a bunch of new features, although I don't believe that it's available yet. Once again, I'd like to stress the superiority of a custom tune, but if you're hell-bent on a handheld, these are a few options for you. Oh yea, stay away from Hypertech...99% about what I've heard about it here has been negative...unless some one gives you one for free and you just want to use it to adjust shift points and correct for tire or gear ratio changes.

I have luck with my tune. No knock and the power and milage is good. I would pay 500 for a mail order before I bought a handheld.

you will get 10-15hp with an intake and exhaust.

If you want control to change stuff yourself, get Hptuners or EFILive. Then you have total control over everything that the pcm does. Most every cheap or reasonable mod isn't really gonna do a whole lot unless the vehicle is tuned for it.
