Best Air Intake system..
#2
I've heard the best gains with a UPD or one of the newer kinds that mounts the air filter down in front of the wheel-well below where the stock airbox is, completely isolated from the engine compartment. (more isolated than the Air-Raid or K&N types.)
I've got a UPD, but I had an issue with it, and it's kind of taking a little while to work out with them. All I wanted to know what what kind of glue or expoxy they use, but email replys are on the slow side of things. (they DID offer to swap the part out for me, but I don't think it's worth the trouble)

I have an AEM brute force, and it is high quality construction. A polished aluminum tube and stainless steel heat sheild really look great under the hood also. I only paid $235 for it new.

aems are pretty awesome. i like mine. it looks sweet, just like badmofo said.
dyno tests, have shown 13-16rwhp. and it looks good, wont crack like some of the upd and k&n people complain about. i got mine for 240 new. and you get the whole intake arm, filter, and it replaces the stock ugly air filter box with no bottom so you can suck up all that air from under neath your truck.

I got my AEM at a non-sponsor's site. You can PM me for details. You can go to google and type in AEM brute force and a bunch of place and prices will come up. Thats how I found mine. Here is a picture of one, but it looks a lot better in person when it is installed because the picture doesn't show the stainless steel heat barrier. The second picture is a powder coated (same price as polished but I prefer the polished) intake installed on an SS. The filter element is HUGE and all the pieces are quality. Plus if you want to install a NOS nozzle, whats' not to like about having a tube that isn't plastic.
