99-00 lightnings ran 13.8-13.9 quarter miles, 01-02 lightnings ran 13.7 and 03-04 ones ran 13.6, the mods he has id say hes running 12.7-13.00, L's respond well to pulley swap as long as it isnt too much. Those trucks are so badass.

I have never seen a stock Lightning run 13.6's. That is way fast.

I have seen them do it, but the conditions have to be right. Each run they tend to drop off a little due to heat soak though. I think I saw a test somewhere that showed a 6 lb. lower pulley swap that netted about 75 h.p.! They respond well to bolt-ons (especially pulley swaps) so it is going to take a god bit of $$ to get a stock truck to that point. The good thing about the NBS chevy's is they are about 500 lbs. lighter than the Lightning so it won't take quite the h.p.

Nope, he's way right about a stock one running those times. With a set of slicks, it was done in the past for many magazine tech tests.
Sorry, but Lightnings are fast.
It will take quite an engine build to beat him with the 5.3L. Or get a stock LQ9 6.0L, LT's, 100-shot, a tune, and traction. Then you will blow him away.
There was a guy at the track with a VHO ECSB with the above mentioned mods, and he was making 12.6-12.5 1/4 mi passes all night long.
Or build up a bored and stroked 5.3L. Then do the above mods with the addition of a cam. Then you,ll hang his ***!

My 01 lightning ran 13.4 w/chip and filter, 12.8 with 4lbs added boost and slicks, 12.3 w/a 50 shot and a few other things. My Sierra ran 12.66 w/mods in sig. I ran neck and neck with a lightning on the highway once up to about 120, and the guy that bought my truck put 4 lenths on his friend's slightly modded Lightning, not sure what year.

so many people are all over the lightnings piece...its a ford!! fast? for a little while until their motors blows or something electrical fries. do i respect the lightning for being quick? yea but id like to see GM throw a S/C on a reg cab model SS and see what kinda times that thing would run. maybe im just too against ford but i would never buy one. if someone GAVE it to me, no matter how fast it was i would sell it and put the money worth of new stuff in my CHEVY.

Fast On Race Day to ford owners
Found On Road Dead to us..... yea i know its a cliche but its true. you dont see all these construction companies and lawn people rollin around in early 90's fords but chevy's...yup
