Ive seen several lightnings even with blower work that couldnt break into the 12's

tune-exhaust-traction and 100 shot can put you into the 12's-low 13's and beating the majority of bolt on lightnings out there.

BTW spend 100 bucks on a shift kit its well worth it.

I don't know about a 5.3, but I can tell you about a 4.8.

125 shot
Tuned PCM
bolt ons (cold air, e-fans)
4.10 rear
3000 stall
sticky tires
no cats

Lightning had both upper and lower pullies (16 lbs boost), Kenne bell TB, cold air, and catback. Ran 1000ft. time of 10.5 at Centerville, AR. Also had Nitto 555 DR's.

What do Lightnings run in 1320?
I seen a bone stock L run a 13.8@100 mph at BMP in 70* weather..They don't like the summer months as much because of heat soak..

The lightning i need to beat has pullies, custom tuning, sticky tires, intake, Full exhaust, no headers. And he's threatening a 100 shot on top of that

100 shot on top of it??? You will defianately need a S/C or turbo system with the appropriate cam to compliment. Then you will need a 75-100 shot as well to beat him if he uses the N02.

make sure he sprays it rigth after he does a nice smokey burnout. those trucks get weird after long burnouts and wont allow full boost after that and then he will be nice and hot and spraying could result in automatic win for you as in his motor just popped like a cherry and they do have hypertechic pistons which hate denotation

haha, if it comes down to that... i dont think we'll be friends anymore I'm just looking for a good (big) cam, converter, and full exhaust. Is a factory intake manifold the best thing for a truck like this?
