Sounds like a nice project, make sure you have a strong trans and rear backing up that big block Are you going to rebuild a 454, or get a crate engine or what? How about a 572

Oh, and welcome to PT.net

Sounds like it will be a fun project. Did you think about putting a ls engine in it?

Sounds like a nice build...I'm not too familiar with non GENIII engine swaps but I'll give you a bump to the top so maybe one of our experts might see this and chime in. I wonder if the newer 8.1 parts (intake, harness, PCM, etc) will bolt up and can be tuned for ya?

The programing is different between an SBC and a BBC. Same with the Transmission I would find a similar year 2500 with a 454 and pull the engine wiring harness and ECU. By the time you try to re-wire what you have, You will wonder why you didnt just pull a factory harness thats already set up for it... If you go to a local do it yourself wrecking yard I am sure you can get a wiring harness with the Ecu for less then $100...
