Default Basic Intake Question

One of the first mods i plan for my truck is an air intake, the one i've been looking at is http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=63-1007-1

I like the look, performance, and price of it. But then while wandering advanced, i saw an edlebrock 'dress up kit' that looked very similar, but for 40 bucks. This got me wondering if there is a functional difference between the 2, or if they just alike on the outside.
Option B would be saying F*** both of them and getting http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=57-3026
but it doesn't quite have the look and is a bit more expensive, but is better power.

I'm also open to other brands or styles if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks

the 2nd one would be ,ore beneficial because it gets cooler air from the fender well. but neither one will make a very noticable difference, other than sound.

interesting, are there intakes in those price ranges that would make a noticable difference, or in general air intakes only go so far? srry i'm more than a little new to modding and not too sure what to look for.

almost forgot, my friend put an intake in his mazda 3 and now says he can't drive in heavy rain, will either of these have that affect on my truck or would i be safe with what i've got?
thanks

You won't have a problem driving in the rain with yours, your buddy does because his car is low and if he hits a pudle it will splash water on the intake and suck it into the engine and cause catastrophic damage.
