Default Back from the track......

Well, I just got back from the track.....
14.98 @ 87. 2.243 60 ft
9.53 1/8th @ 74.
It weighed in at 5565 with me in it and 3/4 tank. I launched it in 4wd, switched to 2wd after the 1-2 shift. It was shifting at about 56-5800. It was fresh off the highway, with the engine temp over 200. I ran it with the stock 17's, but looking back I should have run the 20's. It hooks much better, hardly any spin at all with them, I could have launched in 2wd.
It really feels like it stops pulling once it hits 3rd, I think the torque converter is locking up. I tried holding the shift longer, until 6k. The MPH was better, but the ET was 1-2 tenths slower. I only did 3 runs, the worst was a 15.13 @ 88.5 shifting at 6k.
I really want to get it on a dyno with the wideband. I am still running the stock pump and want to see what it is doing. I was told that the stock non-return systems can hold 8lbs pretty easy, but I am running about 10. I was thinking it should be gaining more than 13 mph after the 1/8th, but I dont know.
I think with a wideband/dyno tune and some changes will get it into the low 14's. It feels like it has a lot left in it, and it ran better with the last tune I had. I had the tune changed to run 10 psi and theold tune was set up for 8.
Opinions............

Something is wrong i thought that you would get into the 13's. Your tune has to be off. There is no way that you should have had a 15 sec run. With the d1 you should pull real hard up top. To me it sounds like the tq is locking up. There is something way wrong. My truck stock will put down a better run then that. Who tuned your truck?

The stock ATI intercooler is so tiny that it lets IAT's skyrocket once it's heatsoaked. That happens at about 3rd gear in a 1/4 mile run. Your tune will pull timing down into single digits when IAT's get high. That low timing along with your converter locking up make for a weak 3rd gear.

Also, the ATI intercooler was an 11lb/min restriction for me at 9psi.

What all was involved with your intercooler? I only have the 2 core, and I figured it would need an upgrade. Also, this thing is pretty noisy, not loud so much though. After looking at your time and mods I would be happy with a low 14 or high 13. What was your weight?

Also, Black Blown, what pulley did you use for the 12 psi?

I bought a Huge Griffin intercooler and mounted it similar to the stock ATI unit. I had to redo some of the piping also.

My raceweight is about 4800-4900.

I have the P1sc with a 3.4 pulley.

Looking at old timeslips, I only gained about 15mph from the 1/8 to 1/4 with the ATI intercooler and stock tune.
