Default back to thinking i need some 15" rims

ok, i am back to thinking i need some 15's on my truck. the main reason is there are soo many tire choices in the 15" range.

i can get WIDE 30" tall drag radials from BFG or M/T.

after looking closely at the front of my truck i think a 15 would fit prety easily. the stud from the ball joint could be trimed up easy. up toP there is a sensor wire that might be close but probably be fine. the caliper is kind of close but the rim is extra thick in that area so on most rims i think it would be fine.

the rear looks real tight, the caliper is about 3/8" away for the entire way. who has put 15's on the back of their truck and how hard was it?

does anyone have a 15" rim i can try? thinking something light and simple like some prostars. i'll pay shipping both ways, just want to try it.

imagine 4 315/60/15 bfg drag radials, i bet i would hook like mad with that set up.

I think that'd be a sweet setup. Then you could keep the 16's for roadtrips or something.

I'll bet you could save 10-15 lbs per wheel also!

I've read that you have to grind on the calipers with 15"s..

If i can fit a 15, it would be hell of a lot easier to find a 30" slick.

So far I can only find 28inchers for 16's.

Don't forget Hoosier makes some absurdly wide street ones called "Pro Streets"

http://www.hoosierracingtire.com/strttire.htm

They are 29 to 31" tall and 12-18" wide. 15 to 17" rims also...

the first hoosier in a 16" is way too wide. they have a nice 31-12.50 in a 15 though. all the good sizes are for 15" rims

i dont mind grinding if it is posiable to make it work.

Could you run a 15" on the front and a 16" on the back? Or are you wanting the same height for each shoe?

Like a 31x12.5x15 up front and a 31x16.5x16 out back...

i would really like to have 4 of the same rim/tires that way there would be no problems with the 4wd stuff, i could warm the rears and then rotate when they started to get worn.

parish, hoosier makes the quick time pros for a 16", 28inches tall, and 10inches of tread on the floor.

Ah okay...well perhaps that 12.5 would work best as it should fit front and rear fine.

You have to admit, these are some serious luxury problems...
