Default Auto cutout.... Pretty slick

This is from an import tuner that I use when dynoing my truck.

Pretty neat if you ask me. It's kinda like having an electronic cutout but never having to hit the swtich it seems.

Check it out.

That's a pretty neat idea. Could you imagine going from dead stock sounding truck to an 18+ PSI / 75-shot screaming roll-on in Parish's truck?! LOL

That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean an E-cutout wil do the same thing but I didn't want any more swtiches and crap in my truck and this looks like it might be the ticket if it is cheap enough.

I either don't get races because my truck is too loud and evil sounding or it sounds to stock depending on wether I have a muffler on or not. This would allow me to give it just enough throttle to see boost and crack open the cutout so people could actually hear me but close right back up if they don't take the bait. I'm usually too busy hitting the high boost switch, making sure the meth is armed and looking around for cops and would rather not have to worry about if my cutout is open or not. LOL

Auto manufacturers have been doing the same thing (well vacuum instead of boost) to some cat-backs in the muffler for some time now (BMW, Nissan). Not as effective as closer to the manifolds, but the technology has been around. Before I got my electric cut-out, I was toying with the idea of a vacuum operated unit. But decided that I would like it to be loud at idle and when I want it quiet I want it quiet. What is really great about this unit is it gives you the back pressure you need at lower RPMs for the low end torque, but opens up as the back pressure is not needed.

Ahh, I didn't know this. Thanks

That was another thing I liked about it. At part throttle my truck seems to have much better TQ or at least takes less throttle to get moving than it does when the muffler is off. That is why I was looking into a cutout of some sort and I ran across this guy.

Hmm, maybe I'll talk to Paul and see what kind of deal he can work me if I advertise this to the V8 crowd. LOL

That looks pretty cool!! Would a rubber vacuum/ boost line be alright that close to hot exhaust pipe or is there a way to use braided line or what??

Should be fine. I have rubber lines on my wastegate. One originally went to my turbo from the waste gate and it works fine.

I'm calling ATP right now. LOL

Ok, I talked to Paul and he said it is not solenoid activated so it will start to open around 2-3psi and by 5psi it is fully open, well enough to bypass the exhaust needed.

This is nice for us truck guys who see boost at part throttle but don't truely want the thing open 100% at only 2psi.

The kit sells for $235 I believe and they are totally open to working out a GP of 10 or more units.. Pretty cool!!!

If you hold off for a bit, I will get in on a GP. I need a little break at the moment. Did you find out what diameter they are produced in?? Imports run smaller pipe dont they??
