thats pretty impressive to me. I ran a 13.8 last year with 100 shot on stock tires.
this year I added a 2500 stall, shift kit, bigger cam, 33" tires on steel wheels & with the same 100 shot only ran 14.3

What do you have that's "impressive"?

his truck will be in the neighborhood of 5500 w/driver. Go throw a 1000 lbs in your truck then put taller tires on it and you be singing a different song. I had to run 10 lbs on my 4.8 4x4 x cab to get to the mid 13's. Its a weight/ tire thing.

That's a 29" tire. Huge difference from a 33".
If you had 3.73's, he would have to run a 4.24 rear end to get the same effective gear ratio. Big difference.
So let's compare. You are 1000 pounds lighter, and if the general rule is 1/10th per 100 lbs, that's a 1 second difference. Then factor in the reduction in effective gear ratio, and let's give him another .3 seconds.
My guess is that this kit on a truck like yours would be good for mid to low 12's.

Doesn't look like it's officially for sale on the web site yet, but I bet you could call.

All the pissing and moaning about tire size will be over with next week when he puts normal size tires on it, I bet he drops 4/10ths with that. I did going from some 32.8" all terrain tires to 29.5 street tires.
Allen, what kind of flange does this thing have on the header? In a year or so I would like to get rid of the STS for a front mount setup but a much larger turbo for my 418.

Tires make a huge difference, then add on the additional weight of most inexpensive aftermarket rims he has on it too...
Just to let you know, 35" tires took 100rwhp from a 5.3L, cammed, 10psi STS turbo.
I'm sure these 33's are taking at least half that!
Once we trade out the 33's with some stock ones, I bet it runs a 13.4.
Also, keep in mind this is a 4x4 ext cab as well. 1,000lbs more is on the light side, I bet it weighs about 1200lbs more.
We'll keep you updated,
