Crazy how it seems real strong from a 35 roll to about 60 then falls off, what injectors woukd you guys suggest? I went from the stock 24lb to the newer 07 model 31 lb non flex.. Maybe i need 8.1's? Im gonna go ahead and get the high volume fuel pump and try and get some more air to it.. Maybe bigger throttle body..

I have 8.1L injectors (non marine) in my swap, they are rated at 31#/hr. Still have the stock TB as well.

I think the weight is a factor. What does your truck weigh roughly? Mine is about 4600 lbs. Once you get it sorted out, I think steeper gears or a looser converter will wake it up.

Oh she's heavy, crew/short/sch 40 pipe bumpers & 31's im sure its up in the 7.5-8.5K range.. As for the injectors the ones I am running are 31 lb so I don't know what the deal is however I pulled the intake off this weekend to check out the knock sensors and low and behold the dude didn't even clean up the intake nor put on the new gaskets that came with the motor! Grrr ******* hate sorry POS like that... However the knock sensor was submerged so that fixed my code problems. So now its on to more new ****.. Thanks for the advice IROC!

You sure this so called mechanic doesn't have the valves run down real tight?? Doesn't sound like he did anything correct.

My swap wasn't an easy job by myself and without a lift. But, I fear the inferior work done by someone else on my dime.

Your injectors are fine. Are you sure he put the new motor in or did he leave the old one in there? I would think something is wrong. There is no reason for him to touch the valves and on a ls motor there is no adjustment like the old sbc. You tighten the rocker all the way down and torque to 22 ft lbs. That would be done by ATK.

I figured the valves were good and I almost started to ask if the mechanic even installed the new motor myself. This whole thing sounds real odd. I hope the op gets it figured out.

Oh yeah trust me fellas the first thing I did was check to make sure he put the engine in and the new oil pump then I started finding all the issues told him about them and he said bring it back we will fix it and I said hell no just give me my parts back I will do it myself. I never take anything to a mechanic I do everything myself but he offered such a good price I couldn't resist, hell it would have taken me an entire weekend to get it done and I value my weekends too much lol. I have built several engines in the past however never a fuel injected one but I do know the valves are correct since it came from ATK with the heads on it and they aren't the old adjustable ones. Oh well I am going to keep on tinkering with it till it performs lol thanks for all the help guys and I will keep you informed..

Moral of the story if the price is too good to be true it more than likely is going to end with you getting screwed!
