Default anyone use type-f transmission fluid?

i have heard that you can used type-f transmission fluid, in place of dextron-3 fluid. the reasoning for this is that type-f is better for firm shifts. it doesnt allow the clutches to slip as much as dextron-3. it has been called "a shift kit in a bottle". i was wondering if anybody has heard this too? is it something that should or shouldnt be done? are there any adverse effect on the transmission life?

I have a mix of DexIII and TypeF. No problems, but I only have 3K miles on it.

Here is the link to the discussion that was in the transmission forum:

After reading this, I am undecided, but I will probrobally leave it alone.

I have also pondered putting f-type in my tranny. This new one w/transgo is doing great so far with DIII in it.

I've got 60/40 synthetic ATF and type F, no issues. 3-4k miles with it.

Thats all that the B&M fluid is. When I put the shift kit in the vette a few years ago, they recommended Type F.

Type-F is powersteering fluid too...

Why is the reason behind using a non recommeneded fluid? B/c it's slightly thicker? DexIII/Mercon is so cheap just change it often and be done with it. I just do a fluid swap every 10K mi.

So, is this worth doing for better firmer shifts? Will it damage a 4L60E transmission?
