Default anyone with swapped 6.0 in here

who here has swapped to a 6.0... if you came in hopefully you...

i have a friend swapping his 2001 4.8 out to put in a 6.o... he will be using his built 60e, and 2800 stall to back the 6.0

i know most stuff will bolt right up... but what wont?? i know the 6.0 uses a spacer on the flexplate... you dont need it on teh 60e right?

also can the stock flexplate be bolted to the 6.0?? all he has bought is the motor... what else will he need?

I used everything from the 5.3 when I swapped, didnt have to use a spacer at the flexplate. I think the early 6.0's had diff length crankshafts though..the ones with iron heads, so that would throw you off but other than that everything swapped over for me.

Yea, all my stuff swapped over from the 5.3 on my last truck. It worked perfect on the 6.0.

As stated above, a 6.0 swap is as simple as pulling one out, swapping the flexplate from the old one to the new one, dropping the new one in, and re-installing all of your accessories.

I just did that and everything just swapped over from the 5.3 to the 6.0. Now if I could get oil pressure I would be fine.

I've done 3 now !

as long as it's a regular length crank, EVERYTHING swaps over . . . . remember, all he needs to swap is the long blocks, and nothing else.
