You may be right on, but I'm wondering what you are basing this percentage loss on.

It's been nearly a year and a half since I started this thread. I'm still thinking about stroking my LQ4 to add torque for towing on 87 Octane. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this in the past months.

I just wanted to bring this thread back out. I'm still planning to build the stroker for towing. I've bought a good used block. I plan to get the parts this winter and have the machining done in the early spring.

Has anyone else done this for a tow vehidcle?

Heh i've been thinking about the same thing although for slightly different reasons. Would stroking my LQ4 possibly improve fuel efficiency when trying to move my heavy *** excuse for a vehicle? Atleast thats the excuse, more power is always in the back of my mind hehe.

No, I hadn't seen this thread, but I've had the Chevy High Performance magazine for a while. I don't see much advantage to just having an offset crank and gaining a tiny bit of stroke. The .030" overbore doesn't gain much displacement either.

Thanks for the information.

on a 6.0? really? I towed a 3500lb car on a 2500lb trailer with the 4.8 and thought "I need a 5.3."

If you want, I have an Lq9 in my truck, you're more than welcome to take a test pull. Its just an Lq9 with tuning which would be extremely similar to an Lq4 with tuning. Maybe save you a few bucks.

I'm in northville and aint got a job. All the free time in the world (gave them a 2 week, they said get out by friday, i just left the next day ).

Maybe save you a few bucks. I cant see my truck stuggling with 7k lbs. Maybe i'm wrong. I wouldn't mind finding out myself.

I thought the 6.0 had plenty of towing power. I've had 16000 lbs behind mine before, that was a little much but it didn't do to bad. 10,000 lbs is a breeze though.
