Default Anyone running an LS6 in their truck?

I have a chance at getting a brand new 405 HP LS6 longblock minus intake for $3300. I am wanting to put this into my RCSB 2wd truck with a 5 speed and eventually swapping in a T56 later. Leaving this motor completely stock (to keep GM warranty), would this propel my truck into the low 13 second range? Otherwise would it be more beneficial to me to find a nice low mileage LQ9 add a nice cam and upgraded valvetrain? More cubes typically rule, but in this case with the light-weight LS6 and unique valvetrain it has, which one has more power potential? Will all truck accessories bolt up to an LS6? I don't want to do any drilling and tapping if I don't have to.

the truck accessories will drop right on that motor. intake included... I'd go with a modded LQ9 personally but its all up to you. You'll end up with better weight up front with the aluminum though.

-just be aware that 5spd probably wont like that LS6 much... you'll be swapping to a T56 sooner than later I do believe.

Ls6 is nothing more then a ls1 with a cam/heads and intake. so your better off saving your money and finding a decent LQ9 or Lq4 and putting a cam in it

the Lq4/lq9 have heads that flow exactly the same as the ls6 does but at a lower compression

a cammed LQ9 would probably be your best bang for the buck, however, an LS6 would be pretty unique.

That is a very good price for an LS6. If you can shift it fast enough you should be able to run 13's without too much trouble. I would think that if you're into just swapping the engine and not really getting into it (cam swap, etc.), an LS6 will work nicely. I'd rather have an LQ9, but in stock form the LS6 should be quicker with your truck being a stick.
