Default Anyone runing LT's with a 4/6 drop?

With the motor swap pending, I'm thinking about what I'll need to do with my exhaust.

First in line are the stock manifolds--anyone running LT headers with a 4/6 drop? Any clearance issues with the suspension/steering shaft? with the ground? Do the collectors drag?

My stock Y is pretty banged up, and I'm not sure if there's any room to move it up any. Has anyone else dealt with this problem, and if so, what was your fix?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Well, for those of you with LT's--did you notice that they hand down lower than the factory pipes?

You shouldn't have a problem unless you go crazy with a body drop or something. But yeah the factory Y pipe will hang below the cross member if you choose to keep the cats in the stock location (mine did at least). I got a custom built Y pipe that tucks in closer to the transmission. I also got some 2.5 reducers and got the welded on butted together before the muffler, so the pipe can be removed if you need to drop the transmission. I hope this helps.

Thanks man...just what I was afraid of. My crossmember is destroyed from the truck being too low, but if there is room to tuck the pipes closer to the truck, I should be okay.

Hey man I was looking at the exhaust today when I replaced the cracked tranny mount and I noticed something. Looking directly behind the crossmember you can't see my custom made Ypipe or the collectors. However my headers went back so far, that even cutting right on the weld to the converters on my stock ypipe, it still hung down and banged on the crossmember. If you go with a custom bent Y pipe it will tuck in EASILY. I wish I would have gotten the custom Y pipe in the first place and saved some money in the long run.

I'm on bags and have Hamm's and when i lay it down, the pipes dont hit, so you "should" be ok. Then again, my crossmember and y-pipe dont have any dents in em so maybe we have different driving styles or something.
