For the turbo builds I do I usually drill and tap the valley cover for a half inch npt fitting and run it to a breather can.

The ls6 valley plate has it built in and is a nice design.

You may have to notch the block to get it in however.

What do you do with the rest of the system? Do you run just the valley plate fitting to a catch can?

Whatever you want to. I usually pull off one or both covers as well. The air needs somewhere to go, oblige it however you see fit.

Very nice! Your aluminum welding is definitely better than mine.

Here is my combo tank I have made a few of, basically same thing, coolant tank catch/breath can combo. You cant see it, but there are tubes and a plate with a bunch of small holes to act as a baffle inside the breather can.
