Default Anybody here have the ls6 cam?

Just wondering if any of you have had good luck with replacing the stock cam with an ls6 one? let me know im considering doing this with my engine, thanks!

I've got one en route to install...just need to find an adjustable timing chain.

Oh yeah... I have the '01 coming. It is 204/211 .525/.525 116LSA.

I think it's better than the '02+ ones as the LSA is tighter (better N/A power) and less exhaust duration. BUT you have just a bit less lift on the '01 cam.

Oh yeah, I believe all the Z06 cams have -2° retard ground in...that's why I'm on the look out for an adj timing chain that's preferably a single chain so I don't have to shim my oil pump.

Yeah the 01 is better imo, but I would recco advancing it 4*. The double roller adjustable chain comes with the neccesary shims too.

hmmm this is kinda confusing to me im just some 17 year old punk kid tryin to get more power out of his 5.3 could u explain maybe whats involved in the installation of not just the cam but everything else i would have to do to make it work ie timing chain and springs, etc. thanks

they take you step by step on alot of the installs alot of the members here have done. it should help you get a better understanding of the LS1 motor.

The 02 would work also, don't count it out. It does have a smaller base circle but would be fine with the 7.4" p rods. Do definately check out ls1howto though.
