Default anybody in here do a motor swap yet

im new to the board and waslooking to see if anyone has done a motor swap in their trucks here yet. im process of doing one im looking into some ideas as far as a fuelsystem upgrade. any ideas would be helpfull thank you ahead of time.

thanks for the welcome big tex. ive got the lunati 382 rotating assembly, ls6 heads, ls1 hotcam, manly 1.8 rockers. to go with previous mods i already have. ill check the archives hopefully like you say ill find some good info.

i went from a 4.3 v6 to a 5.3 v8 in my single cab sierra and fixen to supercharge

did a 5.3 to 6.0 in my truck, here is a pic of the fuel pump i got form speed inc.

i put it after the filter cause it was alot easier and looked better there. you shouldn't need more pump with that set up yet. i had the 6.0 and whipple at 6psi with good exhaust and was just starting to see fuel problems. ls1edit and some larger injectors would be nice though. you can goto http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm to help you decide what size injector.

Parish8 is right, The pump should be fine but, a fuel pressure guage might be nice to keep an eye on it.

If you need more injector and want a relatively cheap and hassle free option the 8.1L injectors are the biggest direct swap injectors that don't cost a fortune. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Are you swapping in an aluminum block?

sorry maybe i should have listed my mods in my signature to give you guys a clearer picture. i did below. im also looking to upgrade the boost on the whipple. of course u guys with any power adders know i left i inihalted the tires. didnt hel matters much any not having any sidewalls. i know have mt 26x11.50 16 when i get i back together. hopefully that should help but with the new setup it will work. and maybe ill score some luck with my transmission and the teeth will hold on the drum. the whole main reason why i got in the perdicament im in now.

im actually going to be using the 6.0 block. as far as the vigilante and whipple combo. as i stated before youll need some decent meat to get full effect. i cant wait to get this completed to feel full affect. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
