Kenne Bell & Whipple have blowers available. Volant & AirAid have cold air intakes. Hypertech has a programmer, but I believe it isn't capable of changing shift points or firmness because of software problems with the Allison tranny.
Tom Byrne is getting a 8.1 Suburban soon and is planning on porting the heads, etc.

I've got an '02 2500 HD 4x4 with the 8.1/Allison. I started out using the Airaid I had left over from my 6.0, bolted right up. I noticed a sotp increase in power, how much I don't know.
MTI ordered me a Whipple, headers & an exhaust, all to be installed here in the next 2-3 weeks. I'll post my impressions then, but having had a Whipple before (97 5.7L Tahoe), I expect great things.
Not motor related, but I've also been upgrading the interior here & there with parts from Caddy Escalades, & GMC Denali's & C3's.
I really need to take some pics of it.

My 8.1 Suburban arrived last week and is at the body shop now. I'm having the bottom painted pewter and also going with an HD hood, grill and bumper. After that I'll be installing a set of The Other Guy's long tube header, Volant induction and a Whipple. I'll also be using their intercooler when it's available.

I got the Whipple, headers(Other Guys), & exhaust (Gibson) put on last week, MTI did the work. Big difference in power, this truck really takes off now. Throttle respose is immediate, boost is a nice thing. I'll be getting the intercooler when it comes out, but for now, this puppy rocks!

Hum... your in TX... tracks are open down there... go visit one! Tracks up here won't reopen until April. I might run it on my next trip to N.J, but I won't take to many passes because I don't like to run the tow vehicle, especially when I'm 350 miles away from home
How loud is the blower? Some people have said that it's fairly quiet and others have said that it's noticeable.

Gotta' wait till I get back to TX to run it, I'm on vacation, 990 miles from home.
As for the blower, it's not as loud as a Vortech, but you can tell it's there. I hear the headers & exhaust alot more.
