I'm sure a radix is the best but has anybody tried a Vortech supercharger the kit is about $2,000 cheaper then the radix, but i'm sure you get what you pay for.

You guys are comparing two different types of blower setups. Centrifugal vs Roots style. The Radix is a roots style and will give you a much bigger kick in the pants at lower (and daily-driving) rpm levels. The Centrifugal types are better for drag racing at higher rpm ranges. 99% of truck buyers don't drag race anyways. The Radix also is better for towing.

Once the pedal drops .. yes, there is a notable whine.
I will have to confirm what Nine Ball said, the Radix is sick when it comes to towing! Before the RADIX I would tow my boat to the lake and always have to downshift from OD to 3rd and sometimes to 2nd to pull it at 65-80. With the RADIX, it's like a total different truck. I can leave it in OD and it stays there for the most part.

What other mods would i need with the Radix?
How reliable would a 5.3 with 40000 miles be?
