I been serously thinking of removing the EGR vavle off my wife's sierra but up to this date I have not seen or heard of proven gains or benifits from doing this.

There is NO benefit. Don't waste your time.

it is supposed to help part throttle driving. it doesn't let the hot exhaust gases back into the intake. it closes under wot. as for a benefit. i dont' know.

Benefits--cleaner intake, reduce/eliminate throttle blade sticking due to carbon buildup. Drawbacks--?

Throwing codes, not passing emissions, adding to the destruction of the ozone, voiding warranty,...etc. There is no real benefit. It's not worth the hassle. Take it from someone who did it.

The ozone seems to have it's benefits...for sustaining life and all. If your vehicle came WITH egr, you will fail without it! It will turn on the ses light and that's an automatic fail. Do as you please with the egr system, I'm just letting you know, you will see/ feel NO difference.

I think it's one of those mods that might add up with 100 other tiny mods. Probably not worth doing by itself unless you have the ability to get rid of the codes and tune for any part throttle issues that might arise.

Yeah, the same benefit you get when you tighten a wide lobe seperation angle. Usually more power in the norm of setups.

Less spent gasses caught up in the next cycle increases cylinder pressure.
