Any proven benifit by deleting EGR?

I read in a book that by cutting off part of the piece that sticks into the intake, you will gain a FEW extra horses. It's not supposed to fail the smog test because it can still function as it's supposed to but you don't have a piece of tubing blocking half the intake. They gave the exact length to cut off but I'm not sure what the exact length was. I do know it was between 1-2 inches. I don't remember which book it was in. I was scanning through several of them at Walden Books.

Same here. It's not going to kill the ozone new trucks don't even have it. After awhile you get tired of cleaning your intake because the throttle sticks.
Benefits - Cleaner intake, no sticky gas pedal, cleaner engine bay
Drawbacks - SES light
