Any MPG or small hp gains from an 05 4.8l V8 Airaid or similar throttle body spacer??

Looking for a small MPG or small hp increase using the airaid or similar helix type throttle body spacer in my 05 4.8 v8 silverado 1500 2wd 5 speed.
It has a true flow cold air intake currently.
Also side note future mods. Stick with stock throttle body and bore it or go to a BBK or something? Same for the intake manifold go with a f.a.s.t or and LS6 one?

No. Get a tune from one of the sponsors if you want a hp and mpg improvement. I got 3 and 5 mpg better city and highway, respectively. But easy stuff that could help are change your spark plugs, change/clean your filter, new fuel filter, sea-foam your top end, clean your MAF and O2 sensors with proper sensor cleaner from an auto parts store (or replace O2's if you have over 75k miles), turn the a/c off, fold your mirrors in, only drive downhill, draft behind 18 wheelers.
Stock tb and intake manifold are fine, especially with a 4.8.

What tune company would you recommend? Currently I have the superchips cortex tuner. It does have an econ mode, not sure if that is good or not.
Get serious about your truck's performance and maximize its horsepower potential with a Cortex performance tuner from Superchips. The latest innovation in a long lineup of world-class performance tuning products, the Cortex system contains all the same great features that Superchips users have come to love and more. Not a generic, one-program-fits-all chip, this complete package has been produced to let any Chevy Silverado owner have complete control of its power, economy, and drivability.
Now available at your fingertips is the ability to program up to three levels of performance settings as well as tune transmission settings and shift points. In addition to performance-enhancing features, the new Cortex tuner can read and clear troublesome diagnostic codes, adjust speed and rpm limiters, and even recalibrate speedometer and odometers for tire and gear swaps. Never before has the performance enthusiast had so much control available.
Three available levels of performance for any driving situation
Adjust shift points and firmness for better drivability
Read and clear diagnostic trouble codes
Adjust or even eliminate speed limiters

Recalibrate speedometer or odometer for tire or gear swaps
Available data acquisition log to record and save performance data
Built-in MSDP-link supports accessories and expandable for future upgrades
Industry-exclusive 2-year powertrain warranty

A tune from one of the sponsors (Blackbear, Wheatley or Nelson) will beat ANY handheld tuner in both fuel economy and performance. Click on one of their links on the right to read about them. Plus free retunes when you add modifications in the future.

I have the Blackbear and love it. Start shooting some PMs to sponsors and checking out their websites. You'd be suprised at what they can do for your 4.8. We all have been on your end, hand helds, tb spacers and "the tornado" In the stickys there is a thread with proven mods and mods that do you no good. Check them out. I still review them here and there.
