Easy killer I joking. Unless he wants to order all his parts thru a local speed shop and pay them cash or check, yes he will need a debit/credit card or a paypal account to order stuff online. There are no free mods worth a damn. Horse Power = $$$. I've always heard the old 5.7l truck motors die after 4500rpm, so I'd look into that, probably from a lame factory tune, cam, and heads.

Start off with headers like Thorley and a nice custom exhaust. Now get a tune from any of the trustworthy vendors that can be heard from this site. Now if you are not satisfied, get a higher stall and then a cam/valve springs/pushrods/locks/retainers and now you have a quick vehicle up to 5800rpm.

I say only 5800rpm as this is the max your Vortec OBS will let you run to without swapping to one of the newer van pcms.

By now you should be somewhat satisfied, then come back here and we will give you some more information.
