Have the motor at the machine shop prepping for a 408 build. It's either let them put the whole bottom end together or do it myself. Has anyone put one together that can give me some pros and cons about putting one together

I've put lots of them together, if you have never done one.....don't let the 408 be your first. That's a lot of money to blow if you screw up.

Great attention to detail is imperative, so is cleanliness. If you don't have the proper tools, accurate torque specs (not internet posted specs), angle gauge, and the patience to clean all the oil passages in the block and crank....and check em twice then let the machine shop do it.

Also if you are using aftermarket rod bolts, you need to use a stretch gauge.

Anything is possible, but a stroker kit is a nice chunk of cabbage, your going to hate yourself if you kill the engine on the first startup.
