Default Any Diablosport Users here?

My free tuner will be here tomorrow and I had a question on the tq management.

Has anyone turned this off? How does the transmission feel afterwards? I see on the diablo site that they do not recommend it.

I Do not mind a good hard shift but if it is going to make it sloppy of what not I do not want to do it then.

I know I should do the nelson tune but money is tight and this is free...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i use it and you have to have a custom tune in order to delete any tq management. i had mine autotapped and on the 2-3 shift there was only a small percentage removed. predator changes different tables than edit. or i'll say not all the same tables. if you don't go crazy on the line pressure and speed adjustment for shifting it will feel nice and crisp. but go overboard and you'll feel your dash shake everytime you shift. it is a good handheld. i rate it above all other handhelds. but as far as tunes go, you are leaving hp on the table. but yours is free, hard to argue with that price.

Mine worked great, They gave me free custom tunes. But when i got the turbo, they couldn't get the tune right and had it shifting way to hard. I was waiting for something to break everytime it shift and this was just driving normal.

What about removing the TQ managment? The U7193 gives you this ability and was wondering if it is a good thing or not?

Anyone take the TQ Managment off of there truck with a stock transmission?

I am impressed with mine in every aspect except the shifting. I can get it somewhat firm but nothing major. I can't even catch 2nd As a matter of fact, on most roads, I can't even spin on takeoff??? I don't see any difference in theTM with it. I can tell the engine backs off quit a bit right before it shifts. I have heard one guy say that when he sent his back to get updated, they found that it didn't have the TM removed so the reprogrammed it for free.

I will be getting a new PCM to have the TM removed, more power and I just bought some efans. I will be calling Nelson for a harness.

you will have to get a custom tune to have tq mgmt taken out. i posted up above that the stock program that comes with the predator only removed a tad tq mgmt on the 2-3 upshift. non no where else.

they just came out with a new version and i don't know if it will take any tq mgmt out either or allow the end user to do such.

i have 80 percent taken out and i can still feel it in there. i have had it autotapped to check for it and they did indeed take about that much out. i also have a relatively stock tranny, just a servo.

When I had my Predator, there wasn't an option of removing the TM. I had the shifts set up for the fastest and firmest possible. For the firmness, I had the all setting on +25% (firmest) and the shift speed was set a -25% (fastest). The shift points settings I based on when I had an HPP and the settings were +3 & 5984 rpms for 1-2 and +11 5948 rpm for 2-3, I left 3-OD stock (based on the 3.73 gears I had). That raised my shifts from 39 mph stock to 42 mph from 1-2 and from 72 mph stock to 83 mph from 2-3 with the HPP. I set the Predator shift point mph and rpm's up similarly, then adjusted form there. Hope this help some.
