Is there anyone on here with a pretty much stock 4.8 and a Radix? How is the performance, how would it fare against a lightning?

 

Very fair! We hvae done a few of them and they run/respond very well to a Radix. You can look for high 13's in a standard cab.

 

depends what year lightning too. you MIGHT hang for a bit but they have hella torque.

 

There's one guys on here with a 4.8 Radix and some decent mods, and he's ran a 12.6 if I remeber correctly.

Texas Terminator, you have any pics of your truck? You have a killer engine set up.

 

LTNKLR01 is the owner of that truck! He has the goal to be the fastest 4.8!!!

There is also a 5.3 Tahoe owned by Whitt that runs in the l0w 13's. That is awsome for a Tahoe!!!

 

That sounds like one of my local customers. He's run mid to high 12s with his 4.8 at New England Dragway (Radix, heads and other bolts ons). VERY impressive for a 4.8 motor. That must suck for the cars in sports/muscle cars that line up against him.

ya the pulley from blownchevy is awsome and so i the head and cam package from tbyrne. My truck was slow before i did the h/c and s/c. I am the first to admit that if i had just put a 5.3 or a 6.0 i would be going faster, but then i would just be another 1500 silverado that have a 6.0 in it. and what is the fun in that. On another note if everything goes as planned i will have some new dyno numbers by saturday night.

 

It's always good to be different. Even better when you get to tell a 5.0 owner that he just got beat by a truck... with a 4.8
