After reading a ton of articles about the L92 heads they seemed to be too good to be true. I would have thought that a set of L92 heads that were hogged out to something like a Stage 3 head would make tons more power than the standard LS heads.

search the dyno thrread over on tech. theres a motor with those heads or similar not making the power it should.

to good to be true......is what ivebeen thinking for some time now!! one reason why ill be running 317s for my boosted 408

what ive gathered and been proven its more then juts CFM that matters in head design, some how they make power with small cams and bolt ons. they are a truck head and were never intended to be more then that but were lucky so GM tossed them on the ls3 which makes insane power with minor tweaking. use same heads on a stroked motor and see nothing impressive

60rwhp worth being budget when you already have around 5k+ into a short block????? my answer is no. hell the ls7 numbers arent to highly impressive. take alook at that recent 427 put together. he has ported ls7 heads and barely hit the 5xx rwhp mark. for the cost he could of had a hell of a 402 make higher numbers. i dunno maybe its just me and how i see things. but for budget **** just isnt there when you go large

so i guess that solves that i will just do the patriot heads who sells a good heads cam combo what type cam should i use? i will use the truck intake for a little while so i save some more $$ until i can afford a ls6 intake. The bottom end is stock and i have lts with full 3in and no cats, and a kn cai. tunning isnt a problem i have a nelson tune. i dont know if it makes a diff but i have a 4l80e (stock convertor), and i do a little towing every once and a while.like i say i might do a sts setup eventually
