Default another fuel pump out

well I have a 2000 silverado I am currently on my 4th fuel pump with 130,000 miles. the pump I have now is a holly walbro 255 and it has been in for about 3 months and around 1,500 miles. Anyone have any idea what is killing my pumps? Or what kind of pump I should put in next? I am getting ready for a iron 347 swap and am tired of droping my fuel tank.

how low do you run your fuel? the fuel pump needs to be submerged in gas in order to stay cool. also is your truck lowered? if so, how low? is it notched? I've seen some trucks that weren't notched go through a few fuel pumps. i've also seen other low trucks that drag/bump the gas tank to go through pumps as well.

+ 1 go through and change you filter, also fill it up before the light comes on.. It is still strange that you have wasted so many pumps in such a short time. Might be more to it.. BTW I have a walbro 255 for sale..

If you're running until the light comes on then you are running it down to low to keep the pump submerged. I was always told to never let it get below 1/4 tank.

my light comes on at around 1/8 tank and my bowl/can(the thing the pump sits in) still holds fuel with the walbro.
