Default Another Corvette servo post, what's involved?

I've been thinking about picking up the Corvette shift servo. I have a few questions. Where do I get one? Does anyone have a part number? Do I need just one? Do I need to drain the tranny fluid to switch servos? I'm a little green on this subject so any info is greatly appreciated.

I got mine from kdsperformance.com for $15.

Install will take you 30-45 min depending on how stuborne the old servo is going to be. You do not have to drain any fluid but you will loose 1/4-1/2 a quart during the install. Here are some quick instructions:

1. Remove heat shield on passanger side of tranny (2-10mm bolts)
2. Push in Servo a few mm and remove snap ring and pull out servo cover.
3. Pull out servo assembly. you may or maynot have to cut the o-ring. You may have to gently pry out the assembly with a medium size screwdriver but be carefull b/c it will slip off very easily scaring the servo.
4. (be sure and note the position of all pieces removed)Pull apart Servo assembly and replace new pieces. Reassemble and install the new servo assembly.

These instructions are vague but are better than the ones that come with the new servo.

Thanks for the help Ken.

I ordered the vette servo today and a Transgo shift kit. I guess the only question I have now is how many washers to use with the shift kit? I'm assuming I shouldn't use the Hypertech's shift firmness after I install these? Also, what does the Hypertech do when you specify that you installed an aftermarket shift kit?

I think I'll try 2 washers first and if it's too harsh for my liking then I'll make the necessary adjustments.

Wow. I paid $50 at a dealership. I must have got reamed. I know it really helped my truck shift but my motor is so small, it boges when it does shift. I wanted some 14's tonight but came up .003 short. It took about an hour to change and we put it together realizing that the inside spring came off its spot. So check that before reinstalling. Also, watch all the o'rings on the new parts. Some of there are split rings and come apart really easy... Have fun...

Thanks for all the help guys. Just one more thing, should be running a tranny cooler after I install the shift kit and servo? If so what one do you guys recommend?

You can only use the Corvette or Billet servos. You cannot use the deluxe kits with the 4l60e.
