i am finialy back on track, got to go and do some gtech runs with the new gtech, 13.48 with a 6psi pully and full weight, thats about 1/10 slower than my best but my 02's were prety high, .96-.97. going to try and get on the dyno and home in on the right a/f ratio then up the boost a little and see what that does, then add some race gas and up the boost some more.
any sugestions for the dyno, this will be my first time. my ltrims look good, i figure on adjusting my PE vs RPM to try and get my wot a/f ratio where it is suppose to be. other than that i don't really have a plan

Did you have a chance to play around with when you go into power enrichment mode?
Did it wake it up a little ?
Are you still using the whipple computer ?
Get a chance to put the BBK Tb on yet ?

Make sure you don't set the A/F ratio too lean on the dyno. If it's a dynojet they don't simulate real world load very well.
If you set the A/F ratio at the edge on the dyno it will be lean on the road. It might even be worse since your truck weighs more than most cars. Have you ever thought about an in car wideband setup? Some of the DIY ones can be had for relatively cheap. Ain't no better place to check real world conditions then on a real road.

F#@K IT,
i am going to get an incar wideband, i don't want to go in and set the a/f ratio and then change something else and not know if it is still close. there are lots of things i plan on doing than may have an effect
more boost
bbk
cold air intake
water/alkey injection
i have wanted one for awhile now, i guess i will just bite the bullet and spend the money. at least $100 or so that would have gone to the dyno shop can be put towards it.

hey Jim, i chucked the whipple computer a long time ago. didn't do the bbk yet, maybe this weekend, i want to port the whipple intake at the same time and not use the adapter plate.
i did play with the PE mode before i got the new injectors and fuel pump and i think i could tell a diference at .91 on the 02's i was seeing KR, around .94 the KR went away and around .95-96 it seemed to slow down. this was not scientific at all i only made a few runs but the numbers seemed to make sence.

I hear yeah Enough stuff goes wRog..and i loose it and then just start buying things to make it work
Wide band In Car would be sweet ..have you had any luck locating a nice unit that's affordable ?
I wanted something that could log and take snap shots of runs. It would be the best way too tune that beast.
You should just bite the bullit and at least get some numbers before you break something else
You need an intercooler. That in myopinion would be worth a lot more than any other mod's done ..Coooler charge=more timing less retard. How much advance are you running on that thing now?
I was able to get 8 Degrees more spark out of mine before i started to hear pinging backeditdown to 4 degrees and it pullsnice and hard, with no KR to be had.
Is the Maf before the whipple or after it ?
I'm sure you could do an intercooler setup
I can send you some pics of the ati Setup if you'd like .

very little chance for an inter cooler, i have looked at it many times trying to figure a way and it doesn't look good. strongly thinking about water/alkey injection but also thinking about just running good gas when i want the big boost.
i am seeing about 17deg with no KR at 6psi, thats probably prety good for a whipple, i am going to leave it low and try and run 8psi on pump gas once i get the a/f just right, then 10-11psi with 100+ octane. thats my plan for today but with water injection i might be able to run 10-11psi all the time but the problem there is all the boost i see at part throttle gets hard to control, i will see 7-8psi at 40% throttle and that may be a problem, another reason to maybe think about keeping the boost low except for when i have good gas.

Water/Alky is probably your best bet. You could put a small fuel cell in the bed or with the way you drive maybe you should just convert the WHOLE bed to a fuel cell for the water alky.
I wonder if there is any way you could rig up some sorta boost controller. There is an electronic one that I saw a while back that you could program all kinda settings. You could set your launch boost and stage the boost to come in a different times, for different gears and some other stuff. I wonder if something like that could be adapted to the Whipple setup. The only thing I can think of being a problem with that type of setup would be the MAF metered air.
Anyone got any clean close up pics of a whipple engine bay for the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0L setups? I just want to look at it.

I think Water injection has different settings so that you can activate one nozzle at lets say, 4psi, and the second kicks in under full throttle. That way, under part throttle boost, it prevents detonation. Here are some good reading over on fullsizechevy.com

Does not really show the left side, I can try to take another if I get some time.
