Stock springs give out around .500" lift. Most stock rods are okay but, get the 5/16" 7.4" TFS ones for ~$80 and you're set.

Stock rockers are fine. This isn't your typical sbc your dealing with here. They are roller and they torque down. No adjusting necessary. I would invest in the p rods as its cheap insurance. A 00 Z28 cam would work fine as it has 500 lift.

Yes, that's correct other wise you will have valve float and the potential to bend a pushrod.
