I'm not sure if I would say that it would need one, but I don't see how it would hurt at all.

I suppose the best way to decide owuld be to keep an eye on how much build up you get behind your TB blade, and keep an eye on how much oil you burn up between oil changes. Then decide on your own from their if you feel the cost is worth it for your vehicle.

i just got one and it is a really nice looking unit. with my set up i think there will be a definte advantage with it. keep oil out of the turbo, intercooler, maf, intake. also with a FI set up i think there is more crank case presure in general so more oil so even more important.

The lightning/harley guys have been doing something similar for years. You can do yourself for about $15 and make it look factory. Those do look pretty nice though.

I did mine for less than $30. That piece looks a lot nicer than mine though

In the installation instructions they talk about requiring the use of a 'catch valve' in forced induction applications. Anyone know what they're talking about, and where I might find such a valve?

Naked AV - Here is a thread from the forced induction section with a part number for a one way check valve.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ht=check+valve

The valve should be placed in the PCV line to keep boost from getting into the crankcase when the intake is under pressure.

Yep, had one on my Camaro and it works great. You will have to go to Lowes or Home Depot to get some brass barbed adapters to hook it in the rubber hose. The valve has 1/4" NPT threads so it's no big deal to get the adpaters in the plumbing fitting area.
