Default alternators

I think my alternator is on its way out and i was wondering if the HD trucks have a higher output alternator than i do??? or do i have to get some kind of aftermarket one to get more power? mine cant keep up with the stereo and fans and everything else so i want to go bigger but i dont know what my options are. thanks

OH man thats exexactly what i did last week.. got the 130amp alternator from the dealer <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> i had the 105 amp and it could not keep up when AC is on i have LT1 fans and one pusher fan for my oil cooler,

130amp alternator is slightly bigger but will bolt right up and you are going to need a new longer belt.., thats it

Use a altenator off a light duty 2500 truck or a tahoe, it has the same connections as yours but has a higher amp rating than a half ton truck.
