Default Alternator Question

I am going to upgrade my alternator to the 03-05 145 amp alternator and I was wondering if would be a direct replacement in my 2000 Silverado. Would I need to change anything to make it work? Thanks

I thought I read that you might have to get the pcm flashed for a bigger alt but I could be wrong.

No PCM flash as I'm running a 210Amp in my Tahoe with no programming change and mine came stock with a 130mp..

It's a Delphi assembly if I recall but it is rewound for higher current. It is actually a 235amp, not a 210. I got it at Alterstart It has been running strong for a year and about 25K miles. It came with a new beefier cable to run from the alternator to the battery.

THIS is the one I bought.

I swapped in an 03 145amp alt and it bolted right up, I just had to install a longer belt, part # 12576451. Here's a link to Creederado's Write Up which should definitely be a sticky IMO

**EDIT** I just realized that I did upgrade to the 02 PCM prior to the alternator swap though...not sure if it makes a difference

I have already have done the 2002 pcm swap, My main concern was if the plug would work, I noticed on my dad's 2003 Silverado that the plug has 3 wires and my 2000 Silverado has 1 wire. I just want to make sure that it is plug & play.
