WHY ???....I was told that the round ones (with heat-sinks) were the preferred kind for some reason

It is my understanding that the ones without the heat sinks are hotter coils..
(not because of the heat sinks)
If I remeber right the ones with the heat sinks are Delphi and the ones without are Mitsubishi..

If you go to the AC Delco website http://www.acdelco.com and go to the parts section, you will see a picture of the Delphi coil ( AC part number D585). This one has the heat sinks. Unfortunately, they do not have a picture of the Mitsubishi coil.

What are the advantages of the ones without the heat sink? ( Other than the fact they are cheeper.) I went to buy one today to troubleshoot a miss and the ones with the heat sink are on my truck and they are $50 a coil. Have the heat sink coils had problems? I moved that coil to every cylinder and it still misses.
