Damn, that is weird
Dude, if you ran almost 1/2 a second faster without the BBK...umm...I dunno...take it off maybe?
I ran 16.4 in 100+ degree weather..with dubs (rim+tire= ~80lbs..each).
You should be gettin low 15s at least.
Get some ASMs or TOG headers

You really need to work on those 60' times to get your ET down. On 20" low-profile tires, I'm pulling 2.2-2.3 short times. You could be back into the 15's EASILY with a little better launch.

it's a 4.8 man, you're right on...maybe even quicker than i would figure...fast 4.8 has a bolt on 4.8 and runs slower than you so you're doin ok. plus it was kinda warm when you ran.
with my bolt-ons at HRP. Those runs you saw at the SBSO was...No PCM tunning, 5600# raceweight (all the **** in the back of the truck, including tires and wheels), and the different wheels since the last time out at the track. No way that my truck was ready for the track that day. I was there for the show. BTW, EVERYBODY was running .3-.6 slower that day.Now for my take on the subject:
What track are you at? The BBK T/B would be my area of concern here. If you ran 15.7 w/o it, then swap it back out and see what happens. Those type T/B's are designed for larger cubed or F/I engines. A ported T/B would be plenty sufficiant for your truck. Now 15.7 is about right. Those Gibsons are not helping like you probably think they are either. A guy I know that had them gained only 5rw and lost .2 in ET. Those wheels are gonna eat time also. Even a modded 4.8 just doesn't have the torque that a stock 5.3 has to get them moving. One more thing, go ahead and spend $16 and get some NGK Tr55 plugs and gap them at .055 and see if you like it.

That is not a bad time. The only way i got a reasonable et out of mine was to gut it 9 removing tailgate and spare tire) and run some 26 nitto's. Keep working on your 60' and try some different tires.
Remember, every truck works different and you have to find the combo that works on yours....

so what the heck is my problem?????... do you think that the 2500' elevation had a big impact on giving me a 16.4???... this was with my stock tires and the rest of the mods listed... it was about 95* w/ high humidity. we had just had a rain storm go through.
