or even just post em up for all to see, I'm interested as well. Also, not to high jack the thread , but is there any advantage to moving the MAF to right in front of the throttle body then have the intake piping run from there to the box? Just curious....

Anyways, UP WITH THE HOMEMADE INTAKE SETUP PICTURES!!!!!!!

One of the big things is keeping the pick up where it will bring in the coolest air, away from the motor! And, moving the mass air flow meter closer to the throttle body could possibly be beneficial as well, as it could get a cleaner reading. If the mass air flow meter is mounted further away from the TB, by the time the air that has been "metered" hits the TB, it can get "messy". You want a nice, clean, smooth flow of air past the meter into the motor. If you remove the air filter on a MAF motor, the air is "messy" and the MAF has a hard time reading it. I took a rental car (Escort) out to the track, and removed the air filter, and the car barely ran, much less pick up any power!!! The air filter smoothes the air before the meter for that cleaner reading, so the shorter you can make everything, the better, but also long enough to keep your pickup point in the "cool air" dept.

Default Well...

...I am no expert on the MAF thing but I just watched a show with a mustang being built for ebay motors running a Paxton @ 400 HP + and they made comments on how much it improved the motor out put by moving the MAF down under the car close to the cool air intake inlet is. ???

I Made My Own Cold Air And Painted It Cost Me Around 15.00 Bucks.it Is Made Out Of 4" Pvc Thin Wall And It Kicks Toward The Drivers Side Of The Truck And You Can See The Filter Tip From The Front A Little Ways Away.i Move My Mass Air Meter It Is Even With The Lower Radiator Support. When I Go To The Track I Put A 90* Elbo And Take The Filter Off,and I Got Ram Air.
Sorry No Pictures

Default Ram Air...

...only provides positive inlet pressure at speeds of 100 mph or more. Good source of cool air though.

For Some That Has Not Modified Thier Iat Sensor That Is Build In The Mass Meter The Father Away From The Tb The Better (the Cooler The Meter Reads The More Fuel)you Can Put A Resistor To The 2 Wires For The Iat Sensor Were It Will Read What Ever You Want It To.from 15* To 50*

You want an accurate IAT and MAF signal to the PCM in order to get the best performance. Especially if you are running an aftermarket tune that depends on having accurate sensor information. The MAF depends on having laminar (think of it as "lined up" air without turbulence) airflow over the sensor elements (the thin wires inside) to get an accurate reading. This is what the maf "screen" is for. Putting the MAF as close as possible to the TB theoretically yields better throttle response because there is less lag between the time the throttle blade admits more air to the intake manifold, and the time more air begins to flow past the MAF sensor.
