The big problem with the Whipple is the damn intake that has to be custom made to accept the piping needed for an intercooler of any type. I know Ryan23 constructed his own...maybe he could make some more for us less industrious souls.
IIRC, he also had to swap intakes to move the opening (where the TB usually goes) a little down and to the left. I imagine I will do something 'one day', but it is more of a job than just fabbing up the IC itself. Any thoughts?

I know Alkycontrol made a meth kit for an older GM truck with a Whipple so i don't see why it wouldn't work on a newer truck. Granted the cooling might not be as good as an intercooler but it's MUCH better than nothing and should be much easier than fabing in an IC. Plus you get the extra octane.

LOL, just read your sig... NM hahaha

Question

I have an intercooler on my whipple but am going to have to change it. I tried to us the truck intake but it was just to tight. I lost like 5 psi because of the tight bend between the intake and supercharger. I'm going to use an ls6 intake and I should have no problems with it. I got my intercooler from griffen for $350 brand new.

Thanks for all the suggestions. As far as using meth injection or air to water intercooling, I just prefer the simplicity of air to air. My truck is a work truck that sees a lot of miles between GA and TX. 140k miles so far and it's a 2002 model. I did look into the duramax IC's, but I'm not sure if I want to risk blocking airflow to the radiator. As far as the general plumbing problems associated with modifying the whipple setup, I'm lucky enough to have a friend with a ridiculously well tooled garage to do the necessary fabrication.
