I was acutally thinking the same thing just yesterday. I'm re-doing my fuel system and I have the feed Y'ed before the rails, into the back of the rails and then the frong of the rails both feed back to the FPR. I guess that's the "way" to do it but I'd rather just go in one side, connect them up front and have the back end of the opposite rail go into the FPR. It's cleaner imo.
But I'll stick with what is best for high hp applications. Not sure what to do or which is best.

I would think you'd only run into trouble if your pump was too weak or your regulator was set too low. The fuel pressure regulator is acting like a dam and keeping both the pressure and flow constant and just letting excess spill over back to the tank. I'm routing mine in the back of one rail across the front and then back down the other rail to the FPR. Your injectors will only starve if your pump can't keep up them.

Is it possible to run the FPR in the horizantal direction as opposed to verticle? I'm wondering if I can fit it underneath the TB and in-between the fuel rails?

Yes, a FPR can be mounted in any position.

Sweet! Good to know. Right now I have mine mounted on the firewall and apparently it's against track rules to have it mounted there so I'm gonna play around and see where I can't put it.
