My dad got a truck for off roading today it cost him 4000 just has a messed up box. how do i check to see if it has 4.10s please help me. its a 99 model silverado has a 5.3 with z71 package im sure it has a positive differential beacuse it leaves 2 very black marks after doing a burnout.

Well I wouldnt be sure on the burnout cause my open diff does the same thing

But if you want to check if your factory gears check the glovebox codes

check out the rpo codes in the glovebox.
GT4 3.73:1 Rear Axle Ratio
GT5 4.10:1 Rear Axle Ratio
GU4 3.08:1 Rear Axle Ratio
GU6 3.42:1 Rear Axle Ratio
