Default 99 1500 4.3 to 6.0 swap

Hey there, I'm new here looking for a little info. I've got a 99 1500 with a 4.3 that I bought all blown up. I've also got an 03 2500 with a 6.0 ls. These two are getting married into one truck. The mechanical end of the swap is pretty straight forward, I'll be bringing the 4l80e along from the big truck as well. My concerns are electrical. I'm figuring things changed between 02 and 03? What will I need to do in the 1500 as far as connectors and harnesses to have the bcm function properly? Any help is greatly appreciated!

To make it the easiest on yourself you will want a 1999-2002 wiring harness for a V8 truck because they are cable throttle bodies. You couldn't use a 2003+ harness or computer because they are different for drive by wire throttle bodies.

Now you may need or want to also get the V8 fuse block and stuff as well so the wiring all works together like normal. Then you could reprogram the computer with a tuner for a 6.0/4L80e swap.

Other things I'm sure will come up like fuel line routing and you'll need a cable throttle body with the throttle cable or make the previous 4.3 cable work. Even think about a new fuel pump just in case because the old 20 year old pump shouldn't be trusted if original.

I've got two complete trucks, could I swap the whole harness from the 03 fuse block and all? I'm sure it will be fairly apparent once I tear into these things. I'll be adding an aftermarket fuel pump, boost is happening eventually. The 1500 is currently 1500 miles away, father in law is hauling it up here to Vermont from Oklahoma.

I suppose you could swap everything including the cluster/BCM stuff into the 99 body.

It kinda just depends on how deep you want to go with it.
